Since 1977, Pikeville, Kentucky, has hosted the Hillbilly Days festival. Every year, hundreds of people visit to see all the sights and enjoy everything that Hillbilly Days has to offer! This year, Voices from the Hill’s very own editor, Tanner Stephens, blogged his experience at the event.
One highlight of the Hillbilly Days experience is catching a show from UPIKE’s very own Bluegrass Ensemble. Tanner had this to add about their performance this year: “I feel like the UPIKE band was perfectly synchronized. They all did a fantastic job. Out of the songs the UPIKE band performed, my favorite was “Rocky Top, Tennessee”. This song attracted the most attention and excitement from the crowd.”
